Visual
Creative roles
A two-column layout with an optional photo and a sidebar in your accent colour for personal details,
education, skills and languages. Suits hospitality, marketing and creative roles; less suited to banking,
government and other strictly ATS-screened applications.
All previews use fictional details. Simple, Professional, Student and Functional are
single-column, which keeps the reading order simple for both people and software; Visual uses a two-column photo
layout, which suits some industries better than strictly ATS-screened ones. No template can guarantee
compatibility with every applicant tracking system.

GUIDANCE, NOT GUESSWORK
Knowing what to write is the hard part.
Most people can format a CV. Fewer know what to actually put in it. This CV maker gives you guidance beside
every field so you can turn what you have really done into something an employer will understand.
Guidance beside each field. Describe the task, the tools you used, and what changed
because of your work.
Room for your first experiences. Class projects, internships, volunteer work and
personal projects all belong on a CV. You do not need paid work history to have something worth writing.
Your words, not generated ones. The writing guide arranges what you type into a clear
point. It does not invent achievements or write your CV for you, so everything on the page is something
you can defend in an interview.
What did you do? Which tools or skills did you use? What changed because of your work?
EXAMPLE: A CLASS PROJECT
Built a campus events directory using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Presented a working demo to the class.
Specific contribution, named tools, clear outcome.
Add numbers only when you can back them up.

WRITTEN FOR NEPAL
What employers in Nepal expect on a CV.
CV conventions differ by country. Here is what applies if you are applying for jobs in Nepal.
01
CV, resume and biodata mean roughly the same thing here
CV stands for curriculum vitae. In Nepal these three words are used interchangeably for the same one to
two page document. Biodata is the older term and is still common outside office roles. Whatever it is
called, employers are looking for the same information.
02
Length: one to two pages
Two pages is normal and not a mistake. Three is usually too many unless you have a decade of
experience. Students and freshers can almost always fit everything on one page.
03
Personal details
Some Nepali employers still expect a short personal details line, such as date of birth and
nationality. Add these as optional fields in the Profile step, or leave them out if the employer does
not ask. Leave out religion, caste and family background unless an application specifically asks for
them.
04
Education order
List your most recent qualification first: Bachelor's, then +2 or Diploma, then SEE. Include your
college or school, the board or university (for example NEB or Tribhuvan University), your result and
the completion year. The Education step has a field for each.
05
Referees and a declaration
Some Nepali employers, especially government, bank and NGO roles, ask for two referees with contact
details and a short signed declaration at the end. Use the optional References and Declaration sections
in the Extras step when a job advertisement asks for them.
06
About photos
A photo is optional on most Nepali CVs. Local job portals such as Kumari Job advise adding one only when the vacancy asks for it. The Visual template
has space for a photo and shows your initials if you skip it; the other templates leave it out.
Send a PDF unless the job posting asks for something else. PDF keeps your layout intact
on any device.
A STRAIGHT ANSWER
What about ATS?
ATS stands for Applicant Tracking System — software that stores and searches CVs so
recruiters can filter applications. Some larger employers and international organisations use one to manage
high application volumes, while many smaller employers in Nepal still read every CV by hand.
No tool can guarantee compatibility with every system, so this one does not claim to.
What it does
Simple, Professional, Student and Functional are single-column, use real selectable text rather than
images, and download as a genuine, text-based PDF that software can read and index. The Visual template
trades that for a photo and a two-column sidebar, which better suits industries where a photo is expected;
text inside graphics and images of text, which none of the templates use, are what commonly cause the worst
ATS problems.
What it doesn't
Give you an ATS score. No tool can reliably score your CV against a system it cannot see, because every
employer configures theirs differently. A score out of 100 tells you about the tool, not about your
application.
What helps more
Use the same words the job advertisement uses. If it asks for React, write React, not “modern
JavaScript frameworks”. Name your tools plainly. Keep section headings conventional — Education,
Experience, Skills — so software finds them.

Practical answers about making, saving, and downloading your CV.
Is this CV maker really free?
Yes. All five templates, the writing guidance, live preview, backups, and PDF download are free with no
account and no watermark. There is no paid tier in this version.
How do I download my CV as a PDF, and will the links be clickable?
Choose Download PDF, give your file a name and check every page, then confirm. Your file downloads straight
to your device as a real, selectable-text PDF that matches the preview, with your email, phone, LinkedIn,
website and other links clickable — no print dialog to go through.
Can I make a CV with no work experience?
Yes. Choose the Student template, or select Use projects instead in the Experience step. Your education,
class projects, and skills move to the front. Class projects, internships, and volunteer work are all
legitimate CV content for a first job.
Is the CV ATS-friendly?
Simple, Professional, Student and Functional are single-column and use real text rather than images, which
is what usually causes problems with applicant tracking software. The Visual template is a two-column, photo
sidebar layout instead — a better fit for hospitality, design and marketing roles than for banking,
corporate or government applications that are likely to be screened by software. Every downloaded PDF keeps
real, selectable text. No tool can guarantee compatibility with every system, and this one does not give an
ATS score. Match the wording of the job advertisement and keep your section headings conventional.
Which font should I use for my CV?
Choose a plain, readable font and use it throughout. Carlito (similar to Calibri) and Arimo (similar to
Arial) are familiar, safe choices for most jobs in Nepal. Tinos (similar to Times New Roman), Caladea
(similar to Cambria) and EB Garamond suit formal applications. The font you pick in the preview is the exact
font embedded in your PDF.
How long should my CV be?
One to two pages for most jobs in Nepal. Students and freshers can usually fit everything on one page. Two
pages is normal once you have a few years of experience and is not a mistake.
Where is my CV saved?
In this browser's local storage on this device only. It is not an account and not cloud backup. Private
browsing or clearing your browser data can remove it. Download a JSON backup from My files to keep an
editable copy.
Can I write my CV in Nepali?
No. The CV maker accepts English only: English letters, numbers and common punctuation. Nepali (Devanagari)
script and emoji can't be typed or pasted, because most employers in Nepal expect an English CV and
applicant tracking software reads English text most reliably. Write names and places in Roman letters, for
example Kathmandu, as they appear on your citizenship or passport.
Can I make a CV on my phone?
Yes. The CV maker works in a mobile browser, and the preview and PDF download work the same way as on a
laptop. On a small screen it helps to fill in your details first and check the layout afterwards.
Can I import my old CV or download a Word document?
Not in this version. It imports its own JSON backups only, and downloads a PDF directly. It does not read
existing PDF or Word files and does not export DOCX.
